Marks the hero of the Hornets
New Zealander Sean Marks has picked a good time to produce a career-best performance for his New Orleans Hornets in the NBA today. Marks came up huge for the under-manned Hornets as they secured their 30th victory of the season in a 101-97 home victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Marks back starting in NBA
New Zealand’s Sean Marks has made a breakthrough of sorts after making his first start in a National Basketball Association (NBA) match for nearly seven years. Consigned to a minor roles off the bench for much of his nine-year NBA career, the former Tall Blacks centre started for the New Orleans Hornets at home to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. Marks can see himself with Breakers
It has been a good news day for the New Zealand Breakers with a major sponsor re-signing and Kiwi NBA veteran Sean Marks declaring that he’s very interested in returning home one day to play for them. Marks, well into the swing of his first season with his fifth NBA team the New Orleans Hornets, told Fairfax Media in a conference call from the States that not only does he follow the fortunes of the Breakers from afar, but that he harbours a desire to one day come back and play for them if possible. ..read more..
Basketball boss steps down
Barbara Wheadon has decided to step down from her position as Basketball New Zealand president. Wheadon has handed the reins to deputy Mel Young, until February’s annual general meeting in Auckland.
