Kirk Penney’s value to the Breakers in the ANBL has been highlighted with his Player of the Month award. Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis is crediting Kirk Penney’s powerful NBL basketball form as the key to their strong team performances over the past month. The Breakers have consolidated second place in the ANBL with a come-from-behind 93-81 over the Taipans. The Breakers have come from behind to beat the Taipans 93-81 in the latest round of the Australian basketball league in Cairns. Revamp planned for NBL
The Breakers will have to apply for a licence to be part of the Australian basketball league from next season and beyond it has been reported.
The NBL and Basketball Australia have agreed to operate under one umbrella organisation and plans are being put in place to revamp the competition, possibly dropping to eight teams.
