Spirit beat Breakers
The Sydney Spirit sunk a free throw in the dying seconds to score an 86-85 victory over the New Zealand Breakers in their Australian National Basketball League clash in Sydney. The Spirit led at half time, before the Breakers surged to a 4 four lead at three-quarter time… however a pair of missed free-throws from Breakers veteran Tony Ronaldson with under three minutes remaining proved decisive as the Spirit built a three-point lead with 15 seconds on the clock. ..read more..

Breakers tame Wildcats in Perth
The New Zealand Breakers overcame a 10-point deficit at halftime to beat Perth Wildcats 118-94 in an Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) match in Perth last night. The Breakers, coming off a 114-70 win over Sydney Spirit, trailed 51-61 after two quarters. Breakers thrash Spirit 114-70
The Breakers’ final home NBL basketball game of the year has resulted in a hammering of the cash-strapped Sydney Spirit at Auckland’s North Shore Events Centre. The Breakers endured a difficult first two quarters, leading just 46-41 by half-time. However, the final two quarters saw complete domination by the home side, scoring 68 points to rack up their biggest ever win in the competition, winning 114 – 70. ..read more..

Penney and Lemanis win ANBL awards
The New Zealand Breakers guard Kirk Penney has won his second consecutive Australian National Basketball League Player of the Month award, while Breakers mentor Andrej Lemanis has taken out the Coach of the Month honour for November. In seven games for the month of November, Penney averaged 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. The former NBA player shot the ball at 42% from the field and 42% from three-point range, while connecting on 78% of his free-throw attempts. ..read more..

The Breakers turn in a disappointing shooting display as their winning streak comes to an end against the Crocs. The Breakers have failed in their bid to win seven NBL basketball games on the trot. The Breakers’ roll continues, with in-form American centre Rick Rickert the latest member of the New Zealand club to land an individual honour in the Australian National basketball League.
