The Sydney Spirit sunk a free throw in the dying seconds to score an 86-85 victory over the New Zealand Breakers in their Australian National Basketball League clash in Sydney. The New Zealand Breakers overcame a 10-point deficit at halftime to beat Perth Wildcats 118-94 in an Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) match in Perth last night. The Breakers’ final home NBL basketball game of the year has resulted in a hammering of the cash-strapped Sydney Spirit at Auckland’s North Shore Events Centre. The Breakers endured a difficult first two quarters, leading just 46-41 by half-time. Penney and Lemanis win ANBL awards
The New Zealand Breakers guard Kirk Penney has won his second consecutive Australian National Basketball League Player of the Month award, while Breakers mentor Andrej Lemanis has taken out the Coach of the Month honour for November. In seven games for the month of November, Penney averaged 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
