Barbara Wheadon has decided to step down from her position as Basketball New Zealand president. Wheadon has handed the reins to deputy Mel Young, until February’s annual general meeting in Auckland. Breakers big man wins accolade
The Breakers’ roll continues, with in-form American centre Rick Rickert the latest member of the New Zealand club to land an individual honour in the Australian National basketball League. Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis is crediting Kirk Penney’s powerful NBL basketball form as the key to their strong team performances over the past month.
